2021.12.06 02:45 rolexcowboy Covid the gift that keeps giving. What else is new. 5 month update.
I’m approaching the 5 month mark and I have been doing better lately. I am taking a multivitamin 2x a day, vitamin C 2x a day. Zinc, D3 and Natto-Serra all 1x per day. Is it helping, id like to think it is. The other thing that seems to help is those body armor drinks. They have lots of electrolytes and potassium and I generally feel somewhat better after drinking one. They have some with 100mg of caffeine to which is good when I feel like I’m dragging at 6pm and still have to get stuff done.
That being said, I got a big “fuck you” reminder this week that I’m NOT fully recovered as I got in a good/moderate workout 2 days in a row (nowhere near the intensity I would do pre covid) and have been feeling like shit the last 3 days. I guess I did it to myself as I’ve been feeling better than usual the last week.
Oh also lovely discovery today, I just turned 30 in September and am noticing a few grey hairs. Not a ton, but I noticed them and thought to myself those weren’t there before covid and those have definitely grown in more the last few weeks. I have read of some people loosing hair and I didn’t but I guess it’s graying so that’s cool. Guess it’s time to cut the hair short again.
I don’t know why I’m really writing this, I guess having a shitty couple days and no one else can really relate in my life. Anxiety is a bitch, insomnia sucks, doctors are mostly useless, and fuck covid. But I guess we just keep on hoping to get better. Hope y’all are doing better than me or continue getting better!

If I’m not crazy do we know anything at all in terms of a when/what kinda deal?
Apologies if I’m wrong and got peoples hopes up.

2021.12.06 02:45 Rainbow_Dash_RL Driving Uber has been a great opportunity to meet people from all walks of life
I'm doing Uber while I finish my degree, and it's been good work. I do love driving after all, I can set my own schedule, and I've met all kinds of people.
I have seen the wealthiest and the absolute poorest people in my city. From people in suits with their work laptops out to people who are barely scraping by, getting a ride paid for by a friend to go spend the last of their money on medicine they need.
I've talked to people who have lived in my state longer than I've been alive, and I frequently meet tourists from out of state and other countries who are visiting for the first time.
As a writer, it's been very inspiring to just listen to what people have to say. Some people don't want to talk with a stranger at all or stay on the phone the whole time. Some people love conversation and apologize if they take a phone call.
Most people are pretty respectful and chill. Some people come from a background and culture where they don't understand that playing loud videos on their phone and cussing a storm on speaker phone is very distracting and rude.
I've provided transport for people who like to put on headphones and keep to themselves. Other people are extremely social and outgoing with me, a complete stranger, and wish to ask many invasive personal questions and try to show me pictures of their family while I'm trying to drive safely.
When it comes to deliveries, some people provide thorough directions and are very thankful while others provide no instructions at all and cannot be contacted.
Overall, I'd say my experience providing transit to folks has been a good one. It's been very good for my writing adjusting the tone of conversation, if any, to my passengers, and anticipating what kind of music they will like from the context is also satisfying.

2021.12.06 02:45 Zero__The__Hero How to avoid catching feelings?
Theirs this new girl at my work who says hi to me a LOT, compared to everyone else she super nice to me. She does have a boyfriend (I think the dude she hangs out with and has matching hair color is her boyfriend) I fall for girls easily and with her I try to avoid her at work but I manage to run into her, she even comes up to me and ask me questions like, “are these micro waves?” “Should I leave this item here?” “What’s that sound?” Just little questions.
I don’t want to catch feelings and I’m sure she’s just being nice but I can’t help myself for falling for this girl, so how do I avoid catching the feels? Any advice?

2021.12.06 02:45 chilloutdancer Why would anyone prefer reading other people's works in philosophy instead of not reading?
Let's consider first some other field/activity. Let's say it's math. You have a professor, you have some students. Professor says that he's got "something" that lets a person complete some applied tasks, in engineering, in computer science, whatever. You see that students who listen to this professor become engineers, computer scientists, etc. Even though not every student become an engineer, you can see that there's such a thing as engineer and if you want to become one, that would mean for to get that something that you professor processes.
And what about philosophy? Why would a person prefer to get influenced by another person's views? Why doesn't a person studying philosophy think for example, that without any influence he would come up with something authentic and would be closer to whatever other philosophers are solving? And why do you then choose "specific" philosophers instead of just choosing random people on the street? What makes views of some people more valuable than others if they don't really solve anything in the end in a sense that they can't be measured in any way, since you always put in question the foundation of whatever idea/model you came to?
Or is it like studying "history" of philosophy without actually trying to explain anything?

2021.12.06 02:45 needmoresleeep Did the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil impart this knowledge, or did humans come to know evil because They Disobeyed God's Prohibition?
Did humans come to know evil because they disobeyed God's command to not eat of the fruit? Or was there something about the fruit that lets humans know good and evil? In other words, if God never commanded humans to not eat of that fruit, would the fruit still have let humans know good and evil?
Seems strange that a food would impart knowledge. Usually this kind of knowledge comes through experience, not from food.

2021.12.06 02:45 anoncareer Advice needed on how to structure resume for EIR role
I want to apply for Entrepreneur in Residence roles in India, but am not sure of how to structure my resume for this role.
I have total 13 years of experience with 4 years as an entrepreneur in finance (had my own consultancy firm which I shut to go into manufacturing) and f&b (the company subsequently failed due to funding issues). For the last 6 years I have been in digital marketing, currently in a mid-senior management role.
Any advice on how to structure my resume for an EIR role would be highly appreciated.

2021.12.06 02:45 genuinely-genuine Network Admin seeking tips for jobs in a Juniper Switching Environment.
Let me start by saying that Cisco is freakin' everywhere.
I have been in field of IT for nearly 5 years now and am currently a Network Administrator. I do just about everything but writing policies for routing and firewalls as the engineers do that.
I am seeking to branch out to a new company with full remote opportunities in something like Jr Network Engineer role, but want to stay within my comfort zone of supporting an already in place infrastructure. I of course am open to obtaining new certs to help me excel after I have obtained the role, like a cloud cert for example as that's everywhere as well now.
Do any of you have suggestions of awesome companies looking for someone such as myself in a more mid-tier role such as the one I am in? I intend to eventually become a Senior Network Engineer, but I expect that to come with time and dedication. Benefits are typically more important than pay, unless the pay is staggering of course. Looking for somewhere with school holidays off so I can stay home with my kids when they have the day off, enough PTO to accommodate sick kids and, if I'm lucky, an annual vacation. 401k matching would be 3rd most important - gotta invest in your future of course.
Let me just say that I love my job and my boss. This company was my foot into the door for IT and it's been the soil that I've nurtured my growth in. It's literally heartbreaking, but a circumstance has come up that's given me the feeling that it may be time to move on, you know?
