2021.12.06 02:55 Sir_Dingus_III A fond memory from a handful of months ago
This is just a fun story that I felt like sharing, no useful information or anything.
Me and two other friends were just hopping around some pubs, trying to get a good match in before we went to sleep. We got into a Badwater server and got sorted into offence for the first round. Now as most of you all well know, TF2's casual matchmaking system is pretty ass, and so the team I was on consisted of mainly low-mid rank players (including me and my party) with a few high ranking players mixed in. The opposing team, on the other hand, were pretty much all high ranking and probably half of them had prestige. We did not do well against them. Still, we didn't want to find another server so we hunkered down and hoped the next round would fare better.
This was a casual server though, right? Aren't we here to have fun? The enemy team is very likely to beat us, so why not do it in style? I pressed down my voice chat button and tried to convince my team of the ultimate strategy that would totally work, and said
"alright guys, trust me on this one, everyone go engi and set up on last"
My friends thought it was a stupid plan, so stupid that they immediately switched classes to engi. I think the rest of my team was either desperate or just wanted to see what would happen, so before we knew it, everyone was in overalls and held big red toolboxes.
We had plenty of time to set up; it would take a while for the cart to reach the last point, after all. What was usually a dead voicechat soon became alive with reports of secured locations and offers for help, so much actual teamwork it could make a grown Russian man cry. I don't know what the other team was thinking, seeing their spawn gates and first point absolutely deserted. They probably thought we gave up before the round started and were just conga-ing in spawn, but a part of me likes to think they were nervous in the back of their minds. Think about it, not even the stray spy or sniper tried to pick any of them off along the way. Isn't that a little weird?
It didn't take too long before first, second, and third points were capped without resistance. Some of them asked where we were in chat, but we stayed silent as Texan ghosts. The first wave of enemies (a demo and pyro) rounded the corner by the top of the ramp, ahead of the cart. They tried to shoot the engis they could see from the distance, but it was too far away. They had to close the distance. Slightly edging down the ramp, they were pelted by fire from two wrangled sentries and quickly laid to waste. Then came the cart and the rest of the team. The first three points came easy, but they would have to claw their way to the last.
All manner of power class-medic combos came down, all thrust back where they came, because only a god could resist the almighty push of 12 level 3 sentry guns. I don't know how much time on the clock we had to run down, but it was not a small number. Wave after wave of Blu team players came crashing through the battlefield, none of them to make it back up. The cart, though, kept edging forward. It wasn't at the bottom of the ramp yet; we have plenty of space to work with, right? The Blu team might as well have said, "well yes, but you forgot to account for one thing.
And he's right behind you."
So suddenly did the spies decloak behind our most crucial defenses, it was almost like an invisible kamikaze attack. We were caught mid-belch with our beer bottles in our hands and couldn't react fast enough to fight off the multiple coordinated spies and repair our buildings at the same time. Before we knew it, three of our most well placed sentries were sapped to bits and the enemy was putting their most into a furious push. We are engineers, though. And we solve practical problems.
As quick as the sentries went down, new sentries were placed and the crack team of goggled wrench-men were busy whacking away and fending off the enemy. We asked some engis in the weaker positions if they could switch to pyro and absolutely torch the place up to prevent something like that from happening again. They happily complied, and went off to successfully fry some sorry spooks to kingdom fuckin come.
Soon 4 minutes on the clock became 3, then 2, then down to the very last minute of the last stand of the Red engis. The cart was at the bottom of the ramp by then, and just on the final stretch of track before the point. A few close calls sent it further than we liked, but we dealt with it like we dealt with the rest of our problems. With lots and lots of bullets, that is. They didn't give up, even as the last seconds of the round counted down, but we gave them what for. As the win screen popped up and the administrator announced our victory, the team all cheered in voice chat, dumbfounded by how we won with that stupid of a strategy. But I just smiled and remembered the advice the engineer first gave us a long time ago.
"Use a gun. And if that don't work,
use more gun." Goddamn I love this game.

2021.12.06 02:55 YzzzY Thoughts / Opinions on FrizmWORKS?
It’s technically a Korean brand not Japanese, but I figured this sub might be a good place to ask.
Recently noticed frizmworks on END and I like the militant Japanese street wear vibe. Prices are affordable relative to similar brands (WTAPS, engineered garments, etc.)
Anybody here have any of their pieces? Would like to hear your guys’ thoughts

2021.12.06 02:55 kitchencabinet69 Drift zone rant
As some of you may know, they have changed the way you receive points on drift zones. They have drastically decreased the amount of points you get. To those who don't know of this and think I am "complaining that I can't get a PR", now is the time to respectfully leave.
I have played Forza Horizon 3, 4, and 5 and logged hundreds of hours in each (not horizon 5, obviously). Out of those hours I've spent probably about 75% drifting, and drift zones are one of my favorite ways to gauge my progress. In the recent update, they changed how you get points. Today I spent over an hour on the volcano drift zone, and fell short of my PB by 200,000-300,000 points each time (same car as before, same tune as before). I set my PB about 3 weeks ago in less than thirty minutes. Over those three weeks, I have been consistently practicing my drifting, improving. Or at the very least, I'm not getting worse. I then realized I wasn't the only one experiencing this, and I decided to do research earlier today. Apparently, they made the points more consistent, and so that the point counter fluctuates less. I am not angry that I am getting less points, but rather that my previous PB is now untouchable without using a willys or isetta, which I consider cheap.
If any people are wondering, I used the Volkswagen Beetle FE. I still enjoy open world drifting as well as drift adventure, however I am disappointed that for now at least, drift zone PRs aren't an accurate way to measure my progress.
Thanks for reading this

2021.12.06 02:55 SeeYaCap How to Turn On Google TV (TCL) with Google Home /Assistant
I recently purchased a TCL QLED 4K 55" Class 5 Series from Best Buy. As it has a Google TV, I expected it to work seamlessly with my Google Home Mini. My Google Home Mini is able to: Turn the TV off, open apps like Netflix, change volume, play songs through Spotify, etc. ALL through voice commands. However, I cannot turn the TV on through my Google Home Mini. Is there a way to fix this issue? I know some TVs' have a "Stay Connected to Wifi while asleep/off" setting, but I cannot seem to find that on this TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
